TThe Aristo Aviator Observer XL - 3H57A - Sapphire is powered by a Swiss Made ETA automatic caliber, ETA2824-2, operating at 28,800 BPH (4 Hertzs) with hacking and hand winding capabilities. It has 25 jewels with a power reserve of 40 hours.
The Aristo Aviator Observer XL is clearly inspired by German military watches from the 60s. And that means it is designed with legibility in mind. The dial is kept simple and sticks to the basics. And as its name implies, this military/aviation inspired found on its dial, making it highly legible. To keep with the German aviation theme, Aristo has went with the bold Arabic hour markers. Further, covered in SuperLuminova for both the numbers on the dial and on the hands.

The Aristo Aviator Observer XL - 3H57A - Sapphire is no slouch. It measures at a good size of 44mm, a lug-to-lug size of 53.5mm, a thickness of 11mm and a lug width of 22mm. The 316L stainless steel case is finely sandblasted throughout to replicate the finishing found on old German military equipments. To achieve this, the case is made up of three parts; the bezel, the mid case and the screw down case back. What's more, it even comes with a display back for us watch enthusiast to admire the ETA2824-2 at work. Do not be intimidated by the size of the case as the lugs are designed to curved downwards to give it a wrap-around feel. Oh, did we mention this watch is made specifically for Gnomon Watches with a sapphire crystal?

Another interesting feature of the Aviator Observer XL is the huge dial opening, making it visually bigger and instrumental (thus having XL in its name). This also takes legibility to another level.
To complete the vintage theme, Aristo has paired this watch with a tan calf leather strap with off-white stitching.
In conclusion, the Aristo Aviator Observer XL collection is certainly worth considering if you are in the market for a good quality German watch with an ETA2824-2 movement that doesn't break the bank. The watch has a lot of wrist presence contributed by the masculine designed watch case and large dial opening. It makes a perfect watch due to its thin profile, sapphire crystal and automatic movement.
